aol free computer offer

I want AOL out of my computer. I don’t need it. It won’t remove from add/remove. How do I?

I own a Gateway Desktop. It comes with a free trial of AOL 9.0. When I go to Control Panel, then Add/Remove AOL, I get an error message, to report to Microsoft. Yet, this doesn’t offer me a solution. Now, when I turn on my pc, AOL sign up starts every time. I am not trying to install it. I want to remove it. I got IE7, AVG anti-virus, and I don’t need AOL for any reason. It won’t go away and has taken over my pc. It keeps trying to get into anyuthing I click, reminding me that I have not installed the free trial version of AOL 9.0. I’m at a loss for what to do. Oh, in processes with “AOL” in them, when I click end process, it comes back, and/or will say access is denied. Is there a way to get all AOL files off of my computer? Help, before I throw my computer out!

to remove everything you would need to do it through your registry.

Before making any changes back up your registry in case you delete in error.

Go to start, run and type regedit then go to edit and find and type in aol, delete all instances of aol you find and close the registry and it should be gone now.
